I love when I get to do Middle School Spotlight sessions. I call them that because you are the star and you should be in the spotlight, during this short but fun phase of life. I love middle-schoolers or tweens, as some people call them. Payton is an 8th grader and this was a gift to her from her grandmother. I love when people give the gift of photos, photo shoots are the best! She also gave her the gift of not having to worry about online school or what she’s missing out on during this weird school year. She gave her the gift of confidence and feeling good. Payton did an amazing job as we walked around Kings Landing Park in Huntingtown. I can’t wait to photograph her again as she gets older. Just beautiful! xoxo

Southern MD Senior Photographer – Dom

Dang, DOM! Could you be any better at this senior portrait session thing? This is seriously one of my favorite sessions to date and the location was perfect for this dude. The grungy, rundown look fit his vibe perfectly. His style is so unique to him, he even wore some items from the clothing line that he designs: Sorry4Evrything. On this afternoon, it was just myself and Dom on an adventure at another new-to-me location. We found a bunch of old and abandoned stuff in the woods, we both love places like this! I really enjoyed talking to him, he’s creative and has a sweet soul. We talked about business and chasing your dreams, it was refreshing. I love these young minds…may they continue to inspire and push me to be a better person, in some way or another. <3

Calvert County Senior Photographer – Logan

Wow, Logan was yet another rockstar 2021 senior I was lucky to photograph! She just has this natural look that works. Every pose I put her in, she did so well. Her beauty was enhanced with a makeup appointment by Natural Looks by Victoria at her studio. I know a lot of seniors (and their moms!) want to look like themselves and not be too done up for their session. I totally understand that, and I prefer a natural look as well but working with a professional makes a huge difference. They are trained and will know exactly how to make you shine and enhance your beauty for our shoot. And who doesn’t love a little pampering and a fun day at a salon?

Anyhow, back to Logan’s photo shoot… I am in love these photos. I’m so glad we had permission to use Herrington on the Bay, the grounds are amazing. Out of nowhere, the gloomy day turned into bright sunshine! Clouds are not a bad thing but for this tropical, beach session, sunshine was perfect. I also know that these photos brought many tears to her mom’s cheeks! Happy tears, emotion, connections and creating beautiful memories – that’s what this is all about for me. xoxo

Calvert County Senior Photographer – Tyler

I’ve known Tyler since last year through my son’s hockey teams. He plays defense on both the Huntingtown High School and the Junior Black Bears teams, so hockey is basically his life (which is very common for hockey-lovers). 🙂 Since I had insider info that hockey is one of his favorite things, I knew that would be a part of our session. But I also wanted to see what else he loves to do. What makes him, him? I found out that he loves nature, fishing and also his dog… so all three were incorporated into his session. I love the mix of locations we used, both close to each other in Huntingtown. Another amazing session on a beautiful fall night. Good luck with your senior year, Tyler!

Calvert County Senior Photographer – Reese

Reese is a true beauty, so photographing her was a breeze! I literally could NOT STOP taking pictures, so we ended up with a lot of great poses. I don’t think anyone minded at all. 🙂 Just like the rest of us, she is trying to navigate this weird 2020-21 school year and decide what her next steps will be after high school. I do know she has worked hard throughout high school and gotten good grades, which will open up a lot of doors! Maybe a business degree? Maybe something else? I know no matter what she picks, she’ll do just fine with her charm and sweet personality.

We shot this session at another one of my hidden gems, a private farm location that I have permission to use. There are so many rustic and beautiful spots at this place, we could have stayed there all night but we had to get to the high school for her cheer pictures. We got to the school at just the right time and captured the most beautiful sunset I’ve seen in a while. Good luck with your senior year, Reese! Thanks for being so awesome to photograph. xoxo
